Do they have a closet, attic or basement full of “hidden treasures”, items that they are willing to place for sale on eBay? If so, then Madison Road Entertainment, eBay and the American viewers may literally be able to make these dreams come true. The selected families, with the help of a team of experts, will be asked to identify possessions of worth that they would be willing to put up for auction on eBay. When the bidding comes to a close, the grand total will be tallied and the funds raised will be used to make the family’s dream come true! The State of New Hampshire, in partnership with the Division of Travel and Tourism Development (DTTD) and the New Hampshire Film and Television Office, today kicked off the spring portion of the “You’re Going to Love it Here” photography contest. Photographers, both professional and amateur, are encouraged to submit up to five photos of their favorite New Hampshire spring scenes or events. DTTD is now accepting photographs with a spring theme until June 21, 2006. Winners will be announced late July. Entries should be submitted in a digital format by emailing images and submission form found on www.visitnh.gov to photocontest@dred.state.nh.us. Entries will be judged on the basis of creativity, photographic quality, and effectiveness in conveying the distinctive personality of New Hampshire. A panel will judge the entries; judges include professionals in travel and tourism, film and television, photography, marketing and public relations. For more information about New Hampshire tourism, call 603-271-2665 or visit visitnh.gov.

As many of you are aware, the annual NH.com Internet Awards ceremony was held in Manchester on Wednesday, March 8th. This event recognizes and honors the best New Hampshire websites within a variety of categories. I am pleased to announce that the Greater Franklin Chamber of Commerce and www.experiencethreerivers.com was chosen first place for The Webster Public Service Award (http://www.nh.com/misc/nhia/winners.html). This category recognizes web sites that were created to market and promote a nonprofit and is used to serve the citizens of New Hampshire. Even more impressive, we were able to beat out the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce, which took third place. While we know how impressive this website is, it is nice to receive recognition from a state wide, independent third party. It serves as validation for all of the hard work that made this possible.
